Orderbook

The orderbook is not a centralized service. It is a signed, replicated, peer-observed inventory. Makers publish signed limit orders into an Extro orderbook torrent; peers seed them; each wallet sorts the book locally. This page covers the signed-order shape and the publishing economics. The book serves peers and agents identically — see Peers & Agents (PA2AP).

How the book works

  • •The orderbook is not a centralized service. It is a signed, replicated, peer-observed inventory.
  • •Makers publish signed limit orders into an Extro orderbook torrent.
  • •Peers seed order chunks after receiving their publication-fee share.
  • •Each wallet locally sorts bids and asks by price; spread is local best ask minus best bid.
  • •Market orders walk the locally observed book; the taker chooses which limit orders to fill.
  • •The taker submits exact order requests to makers/referee as the chosen flow requires.

Signed limit order

FieldMeaning
order_idStable identifier; bound into every proof and receipt for the order.
maker_pubkey + pgp_fingerprintMaker identity; the referee verifies the PGP binding against Extro identity data before use.
sell_asset / buy_assetAsset classes for each leg; the pair must satisfy the pair policy.
amount + priceExact offered amount and limit price; market orders walk the locally observed book.
rail constraintsWhich rails/flows the maker accepts (e.g. ARK 2-of-2, RGB state transition).
public_token_hashCommitment that binds a future fill to this order without revealing bearer plaintext.
expiry + nonceValidity window and replay protection.
signatureMaker signature over the canonical encoding; peers verify before seeding.

The order is immutable once signed. Proofs and fills bind to its order_id and public_token_hash, never to bearer plaintext.

Publishing economics

0.1%

of order value to publish

10

active seeders (example)

0.01%

to each seeder in that example

Publishing an order requires paying the active seeders that replicate it. The fee is 0.1% of order value, split evenly across active seeders. Worked example: for an order worth 1.000 units, the total fee is 0.001 units (0.1%); with 10 active seeders each receives 0.0001 units (0.01%) each.

The order publication envelope must carry the fee receipts, or a signed failure reason if publication did not complete. Publication fees are payable in Webcash or Bitcoin ARK only.
